An A572 Grade 50 steel base plate measuring four feet by two feet six inches supports a hollow structural section column that receives gusset plates slotted through the column profile. Four stiffener plates match the three-quarter-inch minimum thickness of the gusset plates, which are provided by the buckling-restrained braced frame supplier. A twenty-five-inch by five-inch by thirty-inch long shear lug projects from the bottom side of the base plate. Anchor bolts are installed per the structural schedule around the perimeter.
