An interior new concrete slab-on-grade infill is placed against an existing slab-on-grade with a sawcut edge. Number 4 dowels at mid-depth of the existing slab are epoxy-anchored with six-inch embeds at twenty-four inches on center. Number 3 dowels at two feet zero inches with four-inch embeds are epoxy-anchored at eighteen inches on center typically along the perimeter. The new slab features number 4 reinforcing bars at eighteen inches on center each way with a minimum thickness of four inches. A continuous number 4 reinforcing bar is detailed at the thickened edge section.
