A buckling-restrained braced frame column base plate connection at the column flange features a steel base plate secured by anchor rods per schedule with additional 1 1/2-inch diameter Grade 55 anchor rods required where the gusset plate anchor count meets or exceeds twice the plate anchor count. A gusset plate connects to the column flange and web using complete joint penetration welds, supplemented by 3/4-inch by 12-inch stiffener plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. Grout holes of 2-inch minimum diameter are provided as required for grout installation to achieve full bearing beneath the base plate.
