An elevator guide rail is mounted to a hollow structural section support using three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts centered in two-inch long vertical slotted holes. The structural support consists of a hollow structural section per plan with angles on each side welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds spaced at four inches typical. A wide-flange beam with a three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plate intersects the assembly, braced by a kicker member.
