Horizontal bridging and connection options for cold-formed metal framing using 150U050-54 metal studs spaced with bridging at four feet on center. Option A utilizes a 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch by 54 mils clip angle secured with four number 8 sheet metal screws, or alternatively a Simpson MSUBH3.25 connector. Option B utilizes a punch-out tab bent down and fastened with two number 8 sheet metal screws. Bridging is omitted where properly attached sheathing other than gypsum occurs on both sides of studs for a maximum eight-inch stud depth.
