A continuous wide-flange beam frames over a vertical column, supported by a three-quarter-inch plate sized as required or equal to the beam flange width. Four three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts secure the assembly with standard edge distances and typical usual gage. One-half-inch stiffener plates weld to each side of the beam web using three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. Minimum welds per American Institute of Steel Construction specifications join the web and flanges to the supports at both wide-flange and hollow structural section column configurations.
