A vertical steel bar measuring one-quarter inch by two inches by three feet seven inches is positioned at a variable distance from the grid line and extends upward from the top of the concrete slab. The bar is spaced at a maximum of five feet on center and contains five-eighths inch diameter holes drilled to accommodate one-half inch barrier cable strands typically. Ten spaces at four inches equal three feet four inches define the vertical spacing of the cable holes along the bar. Equal spacing intervals are maintained at the top and bottom relative to the top of the concrete slab.
