A steel column bears on a steel base plate set over one and one-half inches of non-shrink grout atop a concrete footing, anchored with bent reinforcing bars. A concrete slab on grade interfaces with the footing while adjacent downspout or plumbing lines route through a concrete blockout. Separate elevations show pipe sleeves passing through foundation walls with one number five by twenty-four-inch reinforcing bar placed above and below each sleeve. Pipes maintain a one-inch clearance all around the sleeve and are restricted from passing directly through footings or grade beams without thickening the footing a minimum of one foot on each side.
