A stepped concrete foundation wall bears on a continuous concrete footing. Vertical and horizontal wall reinforcing ties into the footing via minimum dowels matching the wall reinforcement size. Continuous Z bars match the continuous footing reinforcement across the step. A continuous 2x4 keyway is embedded at the cold joint between the footing and the foundation wall. Step dimensions and footing sizes are governed by schedules.
