This assembly features a hollow structural section column supported by a base plate anchored into a concrete pier or footing. The column is secured with anchor bolts providing a minimum embedment depth of one foot zero inches. The top of the column connects to a horizontal member, which is braced by a channel section sized per plan. A one-quarter inch fillet weld is specified for the connection between the column and the supporting structure.
