A steel beam connects to a concrete sandwich panel maintaining a one-half-inch clear gap on the top and bottom flanges. The connection utilizes an L8x6x7/16 by two-foot-long angle embedded with four three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch heavy stud anchors at nine inches on center, along with two one-half-inch diameter by thirty-six-inch dowel bars. An L4x4x3/8 angle with four three-quarter-inch anchor bolts fastens the web of the steel beam to the embed assembly with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld applied on three sides.
