Wide-flange beams frame into opposite sides of a hollow structural section or column sized per plan using shear plates on each side of the column. Bolts secure the beam web to the shear tab with standard edge clearances and spacing per American Institute of Steel Construction minimum requirements. The shear tab is welded to the column with welds sized per schedule.
