An elevator guide rail support post assembly connects an HSS guide rail column to a W18x roof joist and a W10x hoist beam. The connection utilizes a 3/4" x 8" x 12" plate welded to the top of the HSS column, with an HSS9x5 or HSS4x4 sleeve at the guiderail column as required. Four 3/4" diameter machine bolts connect the hoist beam to a 1/4" x 10" plate on the HSS10x6 column using near side and far side fillet welds. A guiderail support bracket is provided at the specified elevation per the manufacturer requirements, leaving a 2-inch gap between structural elements.
