A steel beam connects to a column flange using a drag plate welded to the column and bolted to the beam web. A three-eighths-inch gap separates the beam end from the column face. One-inch diameter slip-critical bolts fasten the drag plate per the elevation table. Stiffener plates are welded to the column web where required.
