A 1-1/2 inch standard steel pipe post with a minimum yield strength of 35 ksi is welded to a 3/8-inch thick A36 base plate using a 3/16-inch fillet weld. The square base plate measures 7 inches by 7 inches with a 5-inch bolt spacing and 1-1/2 inch typical edge distances. The assembly is anchored to the substrate using four 3/8-inch diameter Simpson CS Strong-Bolt 2 expansion anchors with a 2-inch embedment depth. Intermediary steel tubes are provided per architectural details, and posts are spaced at a maximum of 4 feet on center.
