A wide flange beam connects to a new or existing wide flange or hollow structural section column using a bolted shear tab welded to the support. The connection features a plate of thickness t welded to the column with fillet welds of size F and bolted to the supported beam web with N bolts. Standard edge distances and bolt spacings include one and one-half inch typical vertical spacing and specific minimum clearances of one-half inch, two inches, and three inches.
