An open-web steel joist and steel girder bear upon a steel column topped with a steel cap plate. The joist bearing end features a five-inch deep seat secured with two half-inch diameter ASTM A325 erection bolts, while the girder bearing end has a seven-and-a-half inch deep seat secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325 erection bolts. Stabilizer plates measuring six inches by three-eighths of an inch by six inches with a thirteen-sixteenths-inch diameter hole are provided, along with six-inch by three-quarter-inch by six-inch typical stabilizer plates at the girders. The bottom chords are left unwelded to the stabilizer plate unless noted otherwise, and fillet welds of one-quarter inch and three-sixteenths inch sizes tie the connection elements together. The girder joist seat transfers axial load as shown on plan, and the steel column size is verified per the structural schedule.
