A wide-flange beam splice connection is located at one-quarter span unless otherwise noted per plan, maintaining a one-half-inch gap between beam ends. The connection utilizes a splice plate with a thickness equal to the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch. Bolts of a size and number specified in the non-moment beam connection schedule fasten the web plate to the beam web. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld is applied on three sides.
