A cold-formed steel jamb stud deflection track connection features a three-quarter inch vertical gap between the top of the jamb stud and the overhead slip track. Clips are specified on each side of the jamb stud with connections per the provided schedule, including options for Simpson SCW screws, Steel Network SL clips, and custom bent plate clips with vertical slotted holes. The slip track is notched to accommodate the clips, and clips are secured with specified numbers of number twelve or number fourteen self-drilling screws into both the stud and the overhead assembly. A note mandates clips on each side of the jamb stud at all openings greater than four feet in width.
