A wide-flange beam connects to the web of a supporting wide-flange beam using a full-depth shear plate or beam brace. At exterior conditions, a full-depth stiffener plate of the same thickness as the shear plate is welded to the supporting beam. Four bolts secure the supported beam web to the shear plate. Notes indicate additional information and beam-to-shallow-beam connection details on sheet S7.02.
