This concrete masonry unit wall control joint incorporates a continuous pre-formed plastic control joint centered between adjacent masonry wythes or wall segments. Vertical reinforcement is placed in each cell adjacent to the control joint, while horizontal reinforcement is discontinuous at the joint except at the top of the wall where reinforcement runs through. Hairpin reinforcement is detailed typically per sheet S9.01. The exterior joint is finished by raking out mortar one and a half inches minimum on each face, backed with a backing rod and sealed per specifications.
