A structural steel bolted beam-to-column connection features a wide-flange beam framing into a hollow structural section column. A shear tab plate connects the beam web to the column face using standard structural bolts. A quarter-inch cap plate at the top of the column is welded all around with a seal weld. Field welds connect plates to existing beams as referenced on the plan. Plate length, bolt quantities, plate thicknesses, and spacing dimensions refer to schedules and supplementary details on the structural drawings.
