An 8-inch hollow structural section supports the elevator guide rail per structural design, with sizing to be confirmed with the elevator manufacturer. A half-inch by 6-inch by two-foot-six-inch steel plate is mounted to the assembly to handle horizontal reactions Vx and Vy. The exact elevation and attachment locations must be coordinated with the elevator manufacturer specifications.
