An HSS8x4 skew strut frames into the web of an atrium roof edge beam at elevation 132'-0" TOS. The connection utilizes a 3/8-inch by 8-1/2-inch tall end plate welded to the end of the hollow structural section with a 3/16-inch fillet weld and secured with four 3/4-inch diameter high-strength bolts. A supplementary end plate detail shows the bolt gauge and spacing dimensions.
