A wide flange column connects to a baseplate anchored by four three-quarter-inch diameter threaded studs with washers and hex nuts over one inch of non-shrink grout. The baseplate rests on an elevated concrete slab or foundation with additional reinforcing bars and embedded plates per plan. Fillet welds secure the column flanges to the baseplate according to Table 1, leaving the K region unwelded. A one-inch diameter optional grout hole is centered in the plate.
