This structural detail shows a reinforced concrete sump pit recessed into a concrete slab on grade. The pit features continuous number four reinforcing bars running longitudinally and number four bars at twelve inches on center each way centered in the walls as typical. The base slab and wall thicknesses are eight inches unless noted otherwise, with a maximum interior dimension of four feet unless noted otherwise. A metal grating sits flush at the top opening, supported by the concrete shoulders of the pit. Slab thickness and reinforcement are sized per plan.
