A structural steel truss bears on a support beam sized per plan via a 14-inch by 1/2-inch truss top chord bolted bearing plate. A 1/2-inch cap plate seals the end of the top chord. Two 1/2-inch stiffeners are welded to the support beam and aligned with the hollow structural section webs. Fillet welds of 3/8-inch are specified on three sides typically.
