An expansion joint separates concrete slabs supported by an erection pad below. Three number 5 minimum reinforcing bars span each side of the joint, with a three-quarter inch clear joint width designated as P.J. The slab thickness and pad dimensions are sized per the structural schedule. A three inch clear cover is maintained at the bottom reinforcement of the erection pad.
