A steel beam bears directly on a steel column sized per plan, connected by a base plate sized per schedule. Four three-quarter-inch diameter bolts secure the assembly through the beam flange and base plate. A five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld connects the plate to the column with a one-half-inch minimum typical dimension.
