A structural steel column terminates at a base plate welded with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds per American Institute of Steel Construction standards. The base plate rests on a layer of non-shrink grout above the top of the concrete footing. Four anchor rods secure the column assembly, featuring either one-and-one-quarter inch diameter with eighteen inch embedment or one-and-one-half inch diameter with twenty-four inch embedment. Three-inch square by three-eighths inch thick plate washers are provided at the anchor rod bottoms. Oversized anchor rod holes require one-half inch plate washers secured with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds.
