A hollow structural section beam laid flat connects to the supporting structure using an L6x4x1/2 structural angle with a vertical long slotted hole, centered and bolted in the slot. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the connection along three sides. The layout is positioned between elevators as specified per plan.
