Concrete slabs and walls require specific spacing and sizing limits for embedded conduits and penetrations to maintain structural integrity. The maximum diameter of embedded conduits is restricted to one-third of the slab thickness or two inches, whichever is smaller, and minimum clear spacing between penetrations must be three times the diameter or four inches minimum. Conduits are prohibited in slabs unless the concrete thickness is a minimum of six inches. Areas where required sleeve clearances cannot be achieved must be treated as framed slab openings per structural details.
