A concrete masonry unit wall aligns perpendicularly beneath a steel roof deck supported by open-web roof joists or wide-flange beams. Hollow structural section members measuring six by three inches by five-sixteenths thick are spaced at eight feet on center maximum and run continuously between roof members. Angle clips measuring six by four inches by three-eighths by one foot long connect components. Channel members measuring six by fifteen-point-three are placed on each side of the concrete masonry unit bond beam. Compressible fire-rated filler fills the joint gap at the top of the wall.
