Hollow structural section girts frame into a wide flange steel column using welded end plates and angle connections. The connection utilizes HSS10.75 and HSS12x8 members fitted with three-eighths-inch thick end plates welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. L4x4x1/2 angle clips measuring zero feet six inches long attach with two seven-eighths-inch diameter A325 bolts centered on the column and girt. One-half-inch full width stiffener plates are welded inside the column flanges to transfer loads.
