A square steel base plate is anchored by four corner anchor bolts positioned symmetrically along reference grid lines. A pipe column or hollow structural section tube column is centered on the plate and secured with a one-quarter inch fillet weld around its perimeter. Dimension A specifies the overall plate width while dimension C marks the bolt spacing intervals.
