A diagonal angle brace connects between two structural steel beams supporting a concrete slab. The brace size is specified as an L3x3x1/4 angle for lengths under eight feet and an L3-1/2x3-1/2x3/8 angle for lengths over eight feet. A three-eighths by four-and-a-half-inch square plate is used typically with a stiffener plate detailed per sheet S5.02. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size secure the connection. A note specifies that bracing shall extend from beam to beam unless noted otherwise.
