A wide flange beam frames into a wide flange column utilizing continuous plates and/or cap plates matching the thickness of the buckling-restrained braced frame beam flange. The connection features a shear plate sized to match the thickness of the web plus three-sixteenths of an inch. A complete joint penetration weld is specified at the beam web, typical on three sides. Erection bolts are provided at the contractor's option. A non-braced frame beam connects on the opposite side of the column with a bolted shear tab.
