Buckling-restrained braces connect to a gusset plate positioned above a wide-flange beam. The gusset plate integrates with an interrupted concrete slab and reinforcing over a cross-laminated timber deck. Shear dowels and slab reinforcement are provided per plan, with slab reinforcement welded through the gusset plate using E80 electrodes. A three-inch minimum clearance is maintained between the brace gusset and the concrete assembly. The wide-flange beam and buckling-restrained braces are sized per plan.
