A reinforced concrete slab bears on a structural steel beam with a 12 gauge edge form at the perimeter. Two continuous number 4 reinforcing bars are provided with a standard 90-degree hook at the slab edge, extended one foot six inches at outside corners and three feet past inside corners. A minimum two-inch clearance is maintained at the beam flange bearing interface. A field weld symbol specifies a 1/8-inch weld with a 12-inch pitch.
