The hollow structural section beam frames into the hollow structural section column with a shop-installed erection seat. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the top and bottom of the beam, and all hollow structural section to hollow structural section connections are welded all around unless noted otherwise. When the post and beam are of equal width, one-quarter-inch fillet welds are applied. For posts wider than the beam, an alternate erection seat location is used with the angle removed to complete the field weld.
