An HSS8x4 hanger connects to the underside of a wide-flange beam using a half-inch thick connection and cap plate measuring nine inches by one foot two inches, secured with four five-eighths-inch diameter A325-N bolts at the usual beam gauge. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld ties the hanger to the plate. Further down the assembly, two structural angles measuring three and a half by two and a half by five-sixteenths inches and six inches long connect to the hanger with two five-eighths-inch diameter A325-N bolts spaced at three inches on center. These angles tie into adjacent HSS8x8 members featuring three-eighths-inch end plates, with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both sides typical.
