A hollow structural section column welds to a half-inch by thirteen-inch by one-foot-one-inch steel base plate using a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. The base plate is anchored to the top of a concrete slab with eight three-quarter-inch diameter by seven-and-a-half-inch headed stud anchors.
