A pipe sleeve fits tight with the guardrail and is anchored inside a concrete slab edge and foundation stem wall. The six-inch concrete slab is reinforced with number three bars at eighteen inches on center each way. A three-inch by three-inch by quarter-inch plate is welded to the sleeve at the base within the concrete. The foundation wall contains number four bars at eighteen inches on center and continuous number four bars at twelve inches on center with three inches typical clearance. The annular space inside the sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout. The handrail extends upward three feet zero inches and is coordinated per architectural drawings.
