An HSS column or steel roof post bears onto a wide flange beam, sized per plan. Two L2x2x1/4 angles, each one foot six inches long, attach to each side of the wide flange beam and are centered on the post above. A 1/8 inch fillet weld specifies six inches of weld total, typical each angle. Metal deck conditions are sized per plan.
