A structural steel beam frames into a column flange utilizing either a simple or moment connection as indicated on the plan. Continuity plates are aligned horizontally within the column web, projecting outward to match the beam profile. A stiffener plate is welded to the opposite side of the column flange to reinforce the web against concentrated loads. A one-inch offset clearance is maintained at the beam connection where specified.
