A two-sided steel connection frames beams or channels into a hollow structural section post or hanger. A continuous shear tab extends through a slotted tube in the hollow structural section column, secured with bolts sized per the non-moment beam connection schedule. A one-half-inch cap plate is welded to the top of the hollow structural section post where required, utilizing quarter-inch fillet welds and perimeter sealing.
