This assembly features a concrete slab-on-grade with a turned-down perimeter footing edge measuring two feet six inches minimum in depth. The footing is reinforced with two number five continuous bottom bars and number six bars spaced to match the top and bottom mat spacing. The slab is reinforced with number five bars at twelve inches on center each way, placed in both the top and bottom mats. A three-eighths inch continuous expansion joint material separates the slab from the exterior edge. The design requires the contractor to coordinate all slab openings for electrical stub-ups with the engineer of record prior to installing footing reinforcement.
