A new hollow structural section collector spans two feet over an existing wide flange beam and existing roof deck. A new plate, referenced on sheet S612, is welded to the assembly using five-sixteenths inch fillet welds with field weld symbols. The hollow structural section member connects parallel to the roof framing to transfer seismic or lateral loads into the main lateral-force-resisting system.
