This structural detail shows the concrete reinforcing at the intersection of a structural slab and wall. The assembly features a continuous number five reinforcing bar at the top of the wall and number four reinforcing bars spaced at ten inches on center vertically. Additional number four dowels or hooks are spaced at nine inches on center if dimension D is greater than ten inches, or twelve inches on center if dimension D is less than or equal to ten inches. A control joint with a three and one-half inch by one and one-half inch by one and one-half inch deep key is located at the base of the wall intersection. Alternate hooks are provided in the slab where possible.
