This assembly connects a hollow structural section brace to a vertical hollow structural section column and a horizontal steel beam. A three-eighths-inch thick gusset plate is welded to the column and beam using quarter-inch fillet welds. The beam connects to the column via a three-eighths-inch by three-and-a-half-inch by six-inch plate secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts. The hollow structural section brace is welded to the gusset plate with quarter-inch fillet welds on both sides. All member sizes are referenced to the structural plans and elevations.
